The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) at Panjab University, Chandigarh, proudly announces the launch of its National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) Student Chapter for the second consecutive year. The inauguration event, organized by the Placement Cell, took place under the esteemed leadership of Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, Training and Placement Officer (TPO), and the guidance of Prof. Monika Aggarwal, Director of UIAMS, in collaboration with the Punjab Chapter of NIPM on February 11, 2025, at Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Establishing the NIPM Student Chapter at UIAMS represents a significant milestone in fostering the academic and professional growth of students aspiring to build careers in personnel management and human resources. The chapter will serve as a dynamic platform for students to engage in learning, networking, and professional development activities. The initiative aims to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in the evolving HR landscape through expert-led workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions with industry leaders.
The re-launch event featured an insightful expert session by Mr. Jorawar Singh, Corporate Head HR at Continental Device India Ltd., Chandigarh. His discussion focused on the crucial balance between hard and soft skills, addressing key aspects such as emotional intelligence, time management, adaptability, collaboration, continuous learning, resilience, creativity, and problem-solving. The session provided students with valuable perspectives on industry expectations and career readiness.
The event was graced by esteemed NIPM members, including Mr. S.P. Bansal, Ex-Head HR, Max India; Mr. Ravinder Chadha, Ex-Vice President, Punjab Chemicals Limited; and Ms. Renu R.P. Singh, Ex-GM HR, NFL, Nangal. Their presence and insights on emerging trends and challenges in personnel management greatly enriched the student experience, inspiring them to strive for excellence in their professional journeys.
