Punjab Chapter organized One -day Workshop on “Statutory compliances under Labour legislation covering new Labour Codes & Misconduct in employment and disciplinary procedures, at PHD House, Chandigarh. The objective of the program was to provide a platform for HR professionals to interact with Central and State Govt. officials seeking clarifications and preparing for the hassle-free implementation of New Labour Codes as and when the Government announced its implementation. The Interactive Seminar covered ID ACT, Factories Act, Contract Labour Act besides other welfare Schemes and other Labour laws.
The program was well attended by more than 100 HR professionals across the industries from PSUs, Pharma, IT, Health care, and other industries from the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, and Chandigarh.
Dr. Harish Nayar, IAS, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, and former Additional Labour Commissioner Punjab presided over the inaugural session. He shared his experience in his keynote address and discussed the vision and reforms undertaken by Govt during his tenure to make it industry-friendly. Faculty included Mr Anupam Malik, former Addl Labour Commissioner Haryana, Mr KS Guru, Ex Dy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Mr JS kang, PCS, Dy Secretary Labour ,Punjab besides EC Members.
Ravinder Chadha, Chairman of the Punjab Chapter highlighted the activities of the Chapter, as well as Student Chapters in the region. Mr. SP Bansal, Regional Vice President (North) highlighted the NIPM initiatives across India. He also shared plan about the upcoming Northern Regional HR Conference to be organized by Punjab team. The event was well appreciated and attracted good media coverage.
